50 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training

A grounded, intelligent, and contemplative approach to Yin Yoga

This 50 hour Yin Yoga training offers a thorough, accessible, and evidence-informed introduction to Yin Yoga as both a physical and contemplative practice. Designed for yoga teachers, movement professionals, and dedicated practitioners, the course blends functional anatomy, Chinese medicine theory, breathwork, and mindful sequencing with an emphasis on safety, presence, and intelligent teaching.

You will learn how Yin Yoga works in the body, how to teach it responsibly, and how to hold space for stillness, awareness, and nervous system regulation—without dogma, mysticism, or one-size-fits-all alignment.

What Makes This Training Different

This course integrates modern science and traditional wisdom without over-simplification.

  • Evidence-based anatomy
You’ll explore skeletal variation, connective tissue behavior, and nervous system regulation and vagal nerve tonifying breathwork, so you understand why Yin Yoga works—not just how to teach it.

  • Yin as both physical and contemplative practice
While Yin postures apply targeted tissue loading, the practice is equally about breath, interoception, and present-moment awareness. You will learn how to teach Yin as a meditative, seasonal, holistic, regulatory practice—not simply a stretching class.

  • Individualized, functional approach
We move beyond rigid alignment rules. You’ll learn how to adapt poses to real bodies, using props and intelligent cueing to support safety and accessibility. We also teach you how to prop postures correctly, and how to offer hands on adjustments for Yin Yoga.

  • Blended learning format
Core theory (anatomy, philosophy, and Chinese medicine foundations) and preparatory practices are delivered through high-quality online modules which you can access from September 2026 at complete at your own pace, while in-person days in November focus on embodied practice, teaching skills, and direct application.

Who This Training Is For

This training is suitable for:

  • Yoga teachers who want to teach Yin with confidence, clarity, inspiration and safety

  • Personal trainers, health professionals, care workers and teachers of other styles seeking balance and depth in their offerings

  • Bodyworkers, movement professionals, and therapists

No previous Yin training is required. A foundational understanding of yoga or movement is recommended. If you do not have a 200 hour yoga training, we cannot certify you to teach (you can apply for this if you do a 200 hour in the future) but you are still welcome to access the whole course.

What You Will Learn

By the end of the training, you will be able to:

  • Teach the 20 core Yin postures with clear purpose, intelligent variations, and effective propping

  • Understand how connective tissues, joints, and fascia respond to sustained load

  • Apply the Three Principles of Yin Practice: appropriate depth, stillness, and time

  • Integrate breathwork and nervous system awareness into long-held postures

  • Understand the foundations of Chinese medicine theory, meridians, and seasonal practice

  • Design functional and meridian-based Yin sequences

  • Use trauma-sensitive language and teaching methods to hold safe, inclusive space

  • Teach Yin Yoga as both a physiological practice and an embodied meditation

  • Adjust yin yoga for common injuries and conditions
