A balancing and energising retreat to soak up the warmth of summer in the natural surroundings of rural North Portugal. Retreats generate energy, reconnect you to your purpose and nourish both body and soul. This Yang Yin Yoga retreat offers traditional kriyas (cleansing practices), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, Vinyasa / Yang Yoga to strengthen and empower, and Yin, to surrender and release.
Jessica has studied thoroughly under the Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin and Hatha schools, so her classes fuse anatomical and alignment based sequencing and detail with the energetics of breath work, meditation and flow. Jessica is an experienced, warm, knowledgable teacher with a passion for teaching well and supporting the goals of her students. This retreat is open to all level with a consistent practice. Jessica is a highly experienced teacher, who teaches at London’s leading studios: Tri Yoga, Yogacentric, Centric:3Tribes and Yogaloft. Jessica leads 2 teacher training programmes at Yogacentric and Yogaloft, London, and acts as senior teacher at Yogacentric.
Jessica has been leading retreats internationally for 8 years and offers workshops throughout the year in the UK. Jessica offers Vinyasa classes that incorporate creative sequencing, breath work with a strong sense of alignment and technique. Alongside the physical practice, Jessica’s classes are distinct for her integration of yoga philosophy, kriyas, meditation and pranayama. You’ll come away deeply recharged and inspired.
The retreat takes place in an estate with a private manor house that dates back to the 17th century with recent reconstruction bringing you all the comforts of modern contemporary life. This rural property is set in 17 hectres of gorgeous, green and natural scenery. The house is exclusively for our guests on this retreat. The property includes comfortable en-suite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis court and a lake. Shala surrounded by gardens provides a dedicated place for your daily yoga practice.
The house is located in the oldest village of Portugal known for its exclusive production of Vinho Verde wine. The house is situated 43 miles from Porto airport(1 hour drive), 45 miles from the city of Porto, 12 miles to the beach (25 min drive), 3 miles to the village of Ponte de Lima (5 min drive) and 35 miles to Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres (1 hour 20).
Our chef and team offer a creative and special Mediterranean cuisine using products of the highest quality with local, organic or seasonal fruit and vegetables.
What does our kitchen offer?
Loose leaf and herbal teas, coffee, fruit before your morning yoga session
Brunch includes freshly squeezed juices, loose leaf teas, homemade muesli and granola, fresh fruit, seeds, nuts, yoghurts, free-range eggs, fresh breads and pastries, homemade cakes and hot specialities
The kitchen is open again in the afternoon for you to help yourself to snacks, fruit, fresh bread and homemade cakes
Evening buffet style meals are freshly and lovingly prepared offering a variety of plant based bowls of goodness for you to enjoy. All meals use seasonal, local or organic produce to provide delicious, nutritious and soulful food
The chef can cater for all dietary needs with advance notice
Rooms can be taken as single occupancy, sharing twin, triple or quadruple.
